Peace, love and understanding

"My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all."

"I'm not claiming divinity. I've never claimed purity of soul. I've never claimed to have the answers to life. I only put out songs and answer questions as honestly as I can... But I still believe in peace, love and understanding."

"All you need is love."

-John Lennon

"Full of broken glass..."

"It was not in Steve Jobs’s nature to nurture. But it is impossible to read the operatic story of Jobs’s life without pondering the relative roles of nature and nurture."
"Being given up by his birth parents left Jobs “full of broken glass,” said the mother of the daughter Jobs essentially abandoned during her early years."
I'm guessing that Steve Jobs was much more of an "adoptee" full of all the "issues" than he ever let on to the world.  How he dealt with those issues we will never truly know, but it made him who he was....both the good and bad.  He survived and thrived...in spite of it all.

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"
~Oscar Wilde

This quote pretty much says it all. It's all in how you look at it and what you want your story to be. You can either be a victim of your adoption story or a survivor of your adoption story, some even go beyond survivor, they empower themselves and fight for restoration of our rights. It's your choice...your daily choice...and it very well may be the only choice you have in all of it.

Which one are you choosing today?

Today, I'm choosing survivor. Tomorrow I may be in the victim gutter, but today?  Today is good.

Today, I'm giving myself a gold star.
